Grilled Salmon with soy sauce and brown sugar marinade

Melanie over at My Kitchen Cafe is doing a fun little giveaway and having her readers post comments with their favorite grill recipes. I was browsing the comments and there are some really great ones I think I will be trying this summer. Here is one of my favorite grill recipes I found from this site a while ago, it is pretty simple and very tasty! Enjoy!

INGREDIENTS
1 1/2 pounds salmon fillets
lemon pepper to taste
garlic powder to taste
salt to taste
1/3 cup soy sauce
1/3 cup brown sugar
1/3 cup water
1/4 cup vegetable oil

DIRECTIONS
Season salmon fillets with lemon pepper, garlic powder, and salt.
In a small bowl, stir together soy sauce, brown sugar, water, and vegetable oil until sugar is dissolved. Place fish in a large resealable plastic bag with the soy sauce mixture, seal, and turn to coat. Refrigerate for at least 2 hours.
Preheat grill for medium heat.
Lightly oil grill grate. Place salmon on the preheated grill, and discard marinade. Cook salmon for 6 to 8 minutes per side, or until the fish flakes easily with a fork.

All of these recipes sound so fancy and delicious, but I love that they look so easy! I especially like your tip about substituting mayo with yogurt, I've never heard of that.

I'm off to the grocery store to buy the ingredients for your recipe. I found your blog through Zoe the blog designer! Happy blogging!

That's too funny, because I put the exact same recipe in her comments as well. I love her site--thanks for telling us about it. I've tried a ton of her recipes and they're all so good. I just made her oreo truffles and carrot cake for a camp fundraiser tonight.
